Borankulova Samal Kenesovna graduated in 1996 from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al- Farabi Kazakh National University with a degree in Oriental Studies (Japanese Philology). After graduation, she was appointed to the Department of Far Eastern Countries, where she has been working to the present day as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of the Far East, Faculty of Oriental Studies. In 2009 and 2016, she completed the full course at the Institute for Advanced Training of University Teachers at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2011, she earned her Master’s degree from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a specialization in Translation Studies. From September 2000 to June 2001, she completed an internship at the Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Urawa (Japan) to improve her methodology of teaching the Japanese language. In March 2004, she completed a one-year training course for Japanese language teachers at the Kazakhstan-Japan Center for Human Resources Development. In 2008, she undertook an internship in Japan for teachers of the Japanese language. In 2016, she completed a 196-hour training program in Urawa, Japan, under the “Sakura Network Training Program for Teachers of the Japanese Language (Pre-Advanced).” She continuously improves her teaching methodology by applying innovative and modern educational approaches. She participated in the development of the Japanese language textbook Minna no Nihongo. She also contributed to the development of the standard curricula “Model Program for the Theoretical Course of the Japanese Language” and “Model Program for the Practical Course of the Japanese Language.” Additionally, she took part in the development of the MOOC course “Japanese Language” at the Department of the Far East. She actively participates in research and academic conferences and has international publications. In October 2000 and in 2015, she participated in the international conference for Japanese language teachers titled “Japanese Language: Current Issues in Teaching Japanese at Universities” held at Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 2010, she took part in an international symposium at University of Tsukuba focused on strengthening cooperation with Central Asian countries in the areas of international student recruitment, education, and research promotion. In addition to her academic and teaching activities, she is actively involved in the public life of the faculty. Since 1997, she has been a member o
